How do you know if you have selected the right online Tarot reader? It’s a question you may have asked yourself as a client as this business continues to expand exponentially.
Let’s face it, there are literally thousands of online Tarot readers and like any other profession, the level of experience, expertise and communication skills will vary greatly.
When viewing readers online on psychic or tarot websites, you may think that viewing their picture, reading their profile, and then going with your hunch, hoping you’ve picked the right one is all you need to do! A little bit like picking the winning lottery numbers!
The way I selected an online reader was quite random initially, which resulted in me parting with more cash than I bargained for with very mixed readings. For example, one reader told me I was going to marry my soulmate in 1-2 years and that this challenging period was a small glitch; another told me the ex-wife was putting spells on us both and did I want to pay them $1,000’s to have them removed? Neither seemed true to me; maybe because it all seemed too far-fetched from my current reality.
So how do you know what to look for when selecting a reader online?
While some of the points below may be obvious, these 6 tips could help you decide how to select the right one the next time you have an online reading.
- Research different online reading sites: There are SO many online reading sites out there and they all differ in reader variety, communication options (i.e. phone/video/chat) and pricing. It can be a minefield! If you feel comfortable, you could ask a friend for a referral or even browse the Internet for an article that recommends top sites (check for affiliations; look for an independent article). Looking at the recommended sites, learn more about what type of readers are available and their pricing. Does the site look credible? How much do they charge? Do they provide free minutes if you are a new client so you can trial readers and see if there is a connection?
- Be clear on your question/s: What area/s of your life do you want a reading on? Is it love, career, money, family or spiritual development? This is important because you want to match your question/s with the reader’s specialty. On some reading platforms, you can select a reader according to the part of your life you need guidance on. This is so you can avoid trawling through 100’s of readers!
- Read their profile carefully: When viewing different profiles, ask yourself if the reader has spent time putting together a professional profile? Does it give detailed information on their area of expertise i.e. soulmate, career? Get a sense of who they are and gauge their skills and experience. What qualifications do they have, if any? Are they members of any professional organisations? Have they written any blogs for the site? Make sure it fits with the area of life you want guidance on.
- What about reviews: Reviews are not everything as no reader (or service provider for that matter) can make everybody happy! However, I recommend reading reviews to look for 2 things: 1. what is the general theme of feedback and how consistent are the reviews? If for example, several reviews say the reader is compassionate, patient and connected well to the situation, then it is a good indicator of the style you are probably going to get. If the reviews state a reader is direct and honest, then it shows that will tend to be their reading style. 2. How many reviews do they have? This will tell you how much experience they have had on the site but not necessarily how long they have been doing online reading for. Readers can read on multiple sites. So ensure you review feedback to get a solid sense of what their style is like and the content of their reviews. Bear in mind, reviews are highly subjective, sometimes a client’s energy is not open enough to receive a reading so the reader has difficulty making a connection.
- How much do they charge: The old saying of ‘if you pay peanuts you get monkeys’ is still true, even for online readers! However in saying that, I have found that good readers online can undercharge at times compared to the quality guidance they actually provide. It depends on how and what the site charges to clients. So if you are fortunate, you may find a good reader that charges you an economic price. Some sites will actually cap the readers rates themselves, while other platforms allow the reader to set whatever rate they like to the client, allowing them to run it like it is their own business. Beware of readers that bump their prices up, particularly on peak nights like on weekends or public holidays!
- Set a budget: It’s so easy these days to click and pay online, which is why this is a million dollar industry. It is your hard-earned money so be mindful of setting a budget when you decide to get a reading done and try and stick to it. Yes, you want quality but you do not have to pay through the roof for it! The best readers are the ones who respect your budget and don’t keep asking you lots of questions to keep you online for longer.
One last thing, there are readers out there who will tell you what you want to hear and then take your money and run. Then there are other readers with integrity who will use their expertise to provide you with guidance and support to help you make empowered decisions.
So now that you’ve selected your reader using these tips, the next step is to be open to the experience and then see how it resonates for you.
For some people, they can hit a great reader first off that they can talk to and trust. For others, it can be a bit of trial and error to find one that they can connect to.
Selecting a great online Tarot reader is like any other consumer experience or transaction. To make sure you are fully satisfied, shop around different online sites, do your research and make an informed decision.
